In the 2030s, humans are losing ever more jobs and the connected sense of purpose to advanced technologies, which also allow the wealthy or productive citizens to live longer.
A young woman, Raf, becomes obsessed with self-development in her quest to stay relevant and earn the right to a longer life, at the expense of living in the present. Disillusioned by the injustices of a discriminatory state-sponsored program of life extension, Raf seeks to create a world of digital immortality for all.
Faced with the conservatism of her loved ones, she becomes even more determined to immortalize them, while an unexpected turn of events pushes her to reconsider her ethics and belief in free will.
Nikol Andreas was inspired by emotionally deep and visually striking films from an early age. She independently studied all aspects of filmmaking to shoot her first project, a low-budget arthouse feature film, "Who Wants to Live Forever?", in which she undertook multiple roles, including director, producer, and writer.
Rooted in philosophical and social issues such as free will, social inequality, ethics of life extension, and the impact of disruptive technologies, the film explores whether we should reconsider the very definition of what it means to be human in a world increasingly shaped by digital technologies.
To further develop her filmmaking skills and pursue new projects, Nikol moved to Berlin, where she graduated with a BA in Practical Filmmaking in 2024 and shot several films during her studies.
Currently based in Berlin, Nikol continues to work on various projects, assuming roles as both producer and director.
Her goal is to create films that challenge audiences, provoke thought, and evoke genuine emotions. With a strong passion for the potential impact of films, she remains constantly focused on her work.
